LIU Brooklyn gets first 2015 commit in Kwe Askew from Connecticut

Today it was learned that LIU Brooklyn men’s basketball landed their first verbal commit from the 2015 high school class in Kwe Askew, a 6’7″ power forward from Stamford High School in Stamford, Connecticut. The commitment was first reported by Scott Ericson of the Stamford Advocate.

Askew was reported offered by LIU Brooklyn back in late January and had been also offered by Maine. He recently visited both schools before verbally committing to LIU.

Askew was named onto the Class LL All-State second team for his play this season.

New England Recruiting Report ranks Askew as the 20th best player from the state of Connecticut from this year’s class.

There isn’t much to be found on Askew in terms of highlight videos or season stats from this past season. Askew’s Stamford team this past season finished 13-8 overall.

The first day Askew can sign and submit a National Letter of Intent is next Wednesday, April 15th.

With the Askew commit, LIU at the moment, has one more scholarship available for the current 2015 class.
