What you need to know

The Blackbirds are in the midst of their longest losing streak of the season as LIU has dropped their last three games and are just 1-5 in the month of December after a 6-1 November. The lone win being the upset win against St. John’s.

For the second season in a row, LIU and Mount St. Mary’s will meet in the NEC opener. Last season, LIU lost at Mount 79-63 in the NEC opener. Jerome Frink scored 16 for LIU while Mount had five scorers finish with 13 points in a balanced scoring attack.

LIU comes into NEC play second in the conference in offensive rebounding percentage as they get back over 34 percent of their missed shots.

Although LIU has struggled from three-point range over their last two games (5 for their last 26 attempts), the Blackbirds are still shooting close to 35% from deep.

Freshman Jashaun Agosto is coming off his best game since his career-high game vs Incarnate Word back on December 3rd after finishing with 14 points against Niagara.

Nura Zanna has scored 10 or more points in each of his last four games with three double-doubles.
