What you need to know
LIU looking are off to their best start at 5-1 since they started 5-1 back in the 1982-83 season. With a win against Hartford, LIU will be off to their best seven-game start to a season since the 1971-72 season in which LIU started that season 7-1.
Senior guard Iverson Fleming on Monday was named NEC Co-Player of the Week along with Bryant’s Nisre Zouzoua. Fleming averaged 21 points per game in two wins last week including a career-high 26 points against Maine.
Senior forward Jerome Frink is coming off a season-high 27 points in 40 minutes of action in their overtime win against UMass Lowell on Saturday. Frink leads LIU in scoring and rebounding at 16.3 points per game and 8.5 rebounds per game.
Nura Zanna with 15 points and 12 rebounds against UMass Lowell, captured his second double-double of season. Incredibly, Zanna only had one double-double in his LIU career prior to this season and that was two seasons ago in his freshman season.
