Samera Marsh added to LIU Brooklyn women’s basketball coaching staff

Today it was announced that second-year LIU Brooklyn women’s basketball head coach Stephanie Oliver has added a new addition to her coaching staff. She has found a replacement for departed assistant coach Asia Williams who is now on the UNC-Greensboro staff and has hired Samera Marsh as an assistant coach.

Marsh comes to LIU Brooklyn after being at Manhattan last season as an assistant coach for former Jasper head coach John Olenowski was let go by the school after the season.

Previous to her time at Manhattan College, she spent five seasons as the top assistant at Monroe College in the Bronx. She also spent two seasons as an assistant at her alma mater, Saint Peter’s in Jersey City from 2008 to 2010.

Marsh joins second-year assistants Tim Gardner and Heather Zurich on Oliver’s coaching staff. Now all that remains is for Oliver to hire a new Director of Basketball Operations after former DOBO Hillary Spears departs after her two-year stint in that position.

Welcome Coach Marsh to LIU Brooklyn.

On the men’s basketball side, LIU Brooklyn head coach Jack Perri has not yet officially replaced assistant coach Charles Bridge who has left the LIU coaching staff for a second time this offseason after a four year stint with the program. Bridge was also with the LIU program back in 2006 to 2008 as the team’s Director of Basketball Operations under then-head coach Jim Ferry. It is unknown if Perri has already hired a replacement for Bridge as the July live recruiting period begins today.

Bridge arrived for the third of LIU’s three consecutive NEC championships as he joined Jack Perri’s staff in his first season as LIU head coach.
