Blackbirds Hoops Journal has learned that LIU Brooklyn has added a second walk-on player to the men’s basketball team for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
6’4″ guard Raiquan Clark out of Trinity-Pawling School in Pawling, NY where he prepped last season, will be joining the Blackbirds as a walk-on next season.
Last season, Trinity-Pawling went 17-6. Clark was an All-NEPSAC Class A First-Team Selection this past season.
Clark played his high school ball at Hillhouse High School in New Haven, Connecticut in which his team went 18-6 his senior season. He averaged 15.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 3.0 steals per game his senior year in helping Hillhouse win a Southern Connecticut Conference (SCC) Hammonasset Division championship. He was a two-time New Haven Register All-Area selection as well as an All-SCC Hammonasset Division selection. He was named SCC tournament MVP in 2013 and was selected to play in both the CHSCA All-Star game and the JCC Schoolboy Classic.
Clark choose LIU Brooklyn over North Carolina A&T who also had interest in him. New England Recruiting Report had Clark ranked 46th among Connecticut high school players and 136th among New England players back in 2014.
Here are a few of Raiquan Clark’s youtube highlight videos:
He shows nice athleticism, can definitely get up and finish. He attacks the rim which is nice to see. Has a decent looking jump shot as well.
Clark becomes the 15th member of LIU Brooklyn men’s basketball team for next season. He is the seventh newcomer and second walk-on joining Mitchell McMullen who is also walking-on to LIU next season.
