LIU Brooklyn MBB adds a late commitment in forward Glenn Feidanga

Blackbirds Hoops Journal has learned that LIU Brooklyn men’s basketball has picked up a commitment from Glenn Feidanga, a 6’8″ forward from The Rock High School in Gainsville, Florida. He had offers from Iona and Charleston Southern before giving his commitment to LIU.

It was first tweeted out by Scott Holden of

Then Feidanga himself tweeted out his committment to Jack Perri and LIU Brooklyn.

ESPN recruitment grades Feidanga a 3-star grade with a 72 rating. He was a small school all-area second-team selection by The Gainsville Sun newspaper after a senior season where he scored 11.9 ppg and 5.6 rpg in helping his team to a 33-4 record and a Sunshine Independent Athletic Association (SIAA) state championship.

There is no highlight reel of Feidanga on YouTube although there is video of him doing one-hand power dunk in a scrimmage game.

I also found a couple of full game videos of him playing in his junior year in high school (2012).

It is yet unknown how this commitment will affect the 2013-14 LIU roster. Right now, LIU has 14 players for 13 scholarships. (Veterans: Julian Boyd, Jason Brickman, Troy Joseph, Gerrell Martin, D.J. Griggs, Khalil Murphy, E.J.Reed, Gilbert Parga*, Kedar Edwards** ; JuCo Transfer: Chris Carter; Incoming freshmans: Nura Zanna, Iverson Fleming, Joel Hernandez, Glenn Feidanga; *-transfer, eligible in ’13-’14, **-ineligible last season) Edwards is still on the team but has yet to gain his eligibility to play next season academically. It will be interesting to see how this all plays out in the coming weeks.

With the addition of Feidanga, LIU has added even more depth to what now seem like a loaded front court with Boyd, Reed, Carter, Murphy, Zanna and now Fiedanga at the 4/5 positions. Competition for playing time behind Boyd and Reed should be fierce come this September.

dat was one hell of a dunk dammmmmmm

  2. mike jasper says:

    thats a niiice squad

  3. Fiedanga sounds like a great addition to the team…I have a feeling that there might be one or more players Red Shirted this season….

We still need to recruit a PG to replace Brickman the following year.. Go Blackbirds

    • I think the coaching staff did a great job in recruiting for this season. They now have solid depth behind Julian Boyd and E.J. Reed at the 4 and 5 positions. I still don’t know what is going to happen to the roster. I believe either someone will be red-shirted for next season or someone is going to lose a scholarship unless someone decides to play as a walk-on this season. It is going to be quite interesting to see how it all unfolds.
