E.J. Reed named this week’s NEC Rookie of the Week
The Northeast Conference today announced that freshman forward E.J. Reed has been named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the weeks covering December 17 through 30.
In that three-game span, Reed averaged 9 points per game, 5 rebounds per game and 1.3 blocks per game in just 19 minutes per game. He had a career-game his last time out versus Lamar with a career-high 14 points on 6 of 9 shooting with 7 rebounds, 6 of them offensive and a block in a career-high 23 minutes.
Reed has seen his minutes gradually increase since Julian Boyd went down to injury on December 12th. For the season, Reed is averaging 4.2 points per game, 3.8 rebounds per game and 1.1 blocks per game in 16.4 minutes per game in the team’s first twelve games. He is currently shooting 43.9% from the floor.
