A Look Into The 2012-13 LIU Brooklyn Women’s Basketball Team
For the 2011-12 LIU Brooklyn Women’s Basketball team, the year couldn’t have gotten off to a greater start. In fact, it was all-time record start for the Blackbirds. Head coach Gail Striegler’s team started the season with a sizzling hot 11-1 non-conference record. That record included wins at Drexel from the CAA, Charlotte and LaSalle from the Atlantic 10, at Nevada from the WAC and Oklahoma State of the Big 12. Sprinkle in a 1-1 NEC record from two December games and the Blackbirds entered 2012 and the rest of the NEC season in great shape at 12-2. Read the rest of this entry
LIU Brooklyn MBB 2012-13 NEC Schedule
Yesterday, LIU Athletics released the official 2012-13 Northeast Conference slate. LIU was the final team to do so due to the NEC figuring out scheduling for TV games. The only dates changes to LIU’s NEC schedule that have been put by websites, publications and the other NEC teams are the LIU home games with St. Francis (PA) and Robert Morris on January 31 and February 2. The dates of these games have switched with one other so the St. Francis game goes from February 2 to January 31 and the Robert Morris games goes from January 31 to February 2 for the ESPNU broadcast. LIU Brooklyn MBB will be on national TV twice this season
ESPN, which is safe to say is pretty much the national TV home of college basketball during regular season play, released both their non-conference and conference 2012-13 Men’s college basketball TV schedule yesterday. The Northeast Conference will have two marquee games between the projected Top Three teams in the NEC broadcast on national television on ESPNU. Both games will feature the LIU Brooklyn Blackbirds. The 2012-13 NEC Consensus MBB Poll
Now that the NEC Preseason Men’s Basketball Coaches Poll has been released and everyone with either full or partial knowledge of the Northeast Conference has taken their shots on predicting how the NEC will end up, I wanted to find out what the consensus was among the prognosticators.
